Associates Leadership Development Program

Accelerating career paths for young professionals of Color.

The Associates Program presents employees at the early stages of their career with a transformational curriculum developed for professionals of color by professionals of color. Sessions address the distinct experience and unspoken rules of engagement for professionals of color in the workplace, and deliver critical tools for success, including managing up, selfadvocacy, and strong peer networks.

Who Should Consider This Program?

The Associates curriculum is designed for employees of color who are individual contributors and in the early stages of their careers, often with less than 5 years’ experience. This program is best suited for individuals and companies aiming to accelerate career advancement, drive talent retention, and dramatically elevate the performance of diverse teams. Admission is limited to a group of the nation’s most ambitious and promising young professionals, as nominated by their supervisors.

MONTHLY Sessions

February-December (except August) Each class meets virtually in monthly sessions to build competence in three key areas:

• Self-leadership

• Relationship management skills

• Organizational influence & awareness

Between sessions, Associates are grouped in cohorts of 8-10 participants for enhanced engagement, peer feedback, and application of their learning. We use remote tools such as Slack for cohort members to connect and cultivate personal and collegial relationships that long outlast programming.

Manager Engagement

Our programs feature the unique element of reaching beyond the class of Associates to prepare their managers to succeed as leaders of diverse teams. Through two individualized sessions, our faculty prepare participants’ direct managers to champion employees in their career development and introduce best practice frameworks for leading diverse teams.
